Book Review: 21 Days to a More Disciplined Life

Like most people, I struggle with self-discipline in many areas of my life. I’ve tried to implement new “systems” and have tried to buy things to alleviate the problems, but these tactics rarely work. I often find myself feeling more overwhelmed because these systems aren’t the problem.

Crystal Paine is one of my favorite bloggers and she has written a new eBook based on her own struggle with self-discipline that is definitely worth your time! From the very beginning of the book I felt like she was describing me and my struggle!

So often, we tend to place the blame for our lack of self-discipline on everything but the true source…

“Instead of addressing the root issue — my own, personal lack of self-discipline — I convince myself that a fancy new system or a change in circumstances will fix the problem. But here’s the reality: A bad system is not the problem. My circumstances are not the problem. I am the problem.” (page 7)

Crystal breaks down the daunting problem of lacking self-discipline into a 21 day process of identifying and solving the issues that plague so many of us, making it attainable. Each day is filled with simple tasks and suggestions that overtime will foster an environment of self-discipline, and the wisdom in these pages is amazing. After 21 days of focusing on these things, you will be better equipped to be more self-disciplined in every area of your life!

The days include topics like: “Be Realistic”…”Stop Comparing Yourself to Others”…and “Do It Now”…all things that I need to focus on daily!

I have a feeling this is a book that I will come back to again and again.
