Book Review: “Persecuted: The Global Assault on Christians”

Did you know that Christians are the single most widely persecuted group of people in the world today? Did you know that 75% of all acts of religious intolerance are directed toward Christians? It’s so easy to enjoy our religious freedoms in the United States while ignoring the realities of our brothers and sisters around the world, especially as the secular media ignores these travesties. This book seeks to end the ignorance.

Persecuted: The Global Assault on Christians is an intriguing, thorough report on Christianity in the world today. It is easily the best book on the subject that I have ever read. The authors break the book into sections according to region (or similarity in ruling, i.e. communism). Each chapter offers history, insight, current stories and testimonies, and each chapter will bring you to your knees as you recognize the plight of our dear fellow Christians around the world.

This book is not one to be taken lightly, but rather to be studied carefully and shared liberally so that the message continues to be known. We have a duty to pray for those who are being persecuted and to be prepared for persecution ourselves. Jesus promised that He would be with us always, even as we are persecuted for following Him. As you read these stories, take time to pray and be humbled by what you have read.

I received a copy of this book from Booksneeze.com in exchange for my honest review.
