Peace which exceeds anything we can understand…

On Friday, we grieved as we adjusted to the news of our Tori’s diagnosis. We prayed, pleaded, and cried out to the Lord to spare our beloved daughter.

On Saturday, we prayed, visited with friends and family who came by, and we prayed some more. Yet again, every song that came on the radio spoke to our hearts and brought comfort.

The future is still so unclear, and we have no idea what God’s plan is.

However, both Brennan and I are filled with a supernatural peace right now about all of this. We truly can’t explain it. We have been receiving messages about how this is impacting the lives of people we’ve never even met, which has reminded us that God is already using her little life for big things. We are seeing things happen that can’t be coincidence.

We are filled with hope because we know that He is going to heal her – whether on earth with us or in Heaven with Him. Is this easy? Not at all. We still have a long road ahead of us. But, He has reminded us that He loves us, He loves her, He has a plan, and we shouldn’t worry.

“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again – rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:4-7

  1. Lesa–I’m so glad God has been holding your hearts and comforting you!!! Yes, he is Yahweh Ropheca, God our healer. We’re praying for his healing for Tori!! Have you checked out classical homeopathy? My husband and I have found that God works through it for us (no, it’s not herbs, supplements, etc.) It’s been around for 200+ years, the British royal family has used it for 4 generations. It has no side effects, and is very very gentle. We ourselves have used it for 15 years (not enough room here to give you details), and are abt to work with it again on some serious and dangerous health challenges we have. Of course I cant make guarantees, but I encourage you to check it out. The National Center For Homeopathy is the national accountability group. A guy named Steve Waldstein (www.homeopathy-cures.com), who has worked with it for 36 years, tackles tough cases all over the world–we’re abt to start working with him. His office phone # is (303) 338-1776. He won’t charge you for the initial 15 minute call, and will give you an honest assessment of whether he believes he can help. I truly hope you’ll talk with Steve, Lesa. God has used homeopathy so clearly and effectively for us! We’ll be asking him to touch little Tori and heal her, with whatever way he chooses!!!

  2. You don’t know me but I’m praying for you and Tori. My husband was diagnosed with stage four colon and abdominal cancer in 2011 and we like you felt the bottom of our world fall out from beneath us. We surrendered his journey and healing to God and total surrender is where that peace comes from. We like you shared our story and many lives were touched. I encourage you to remain strong in your faith, stay surrendered, stay strong in your testimony and continue to trust God. We soon realized none of what we were going through was about us it was all about Him as we continued to draw our strength from Him, from prayers of others and sweet family and friends we remained true and surrendered to His journey for our lives. God decided it was best to heal my husband in heaven and in April 2013 he took the most incredible part of the journey and went home to heaven. I never gave up hope or quit asking for healing on earth until he drew his last breath. Whether God heals Tori here on earth or in heaven please know there are others pleading for her healing on earth and join you in your request to God. I believe He hears the requests of others on our behalf. So when you grow weary or are overcome with fatigue be assured others are there carrying on for you. Be gentle with yourself and don’t feel you have to be super human. Let others help as I know how hard it is for the caregivers too. You will bless others as they help with your precious baby girl. She is indeed a beautiful child and you have touched my life and encouraged me to remember to continue on and stay strong. God bless you with many beautiful times during this journey, may you continue to see His hands and feel His presence and be assured others prayers for healing are being sent for precious Tori and for strength for you and your husband and family. God bless.

  4. I do believe the Lord is coming soon. The world is in bad shape.Look at all the women flocking to the theater to see a movie about abuse on women.I haven’t read the books or even know anything about it,but the reviews I have read.Look at all the parents murdering and abusing their sweet babies and you are two parents who would lay down your life for yours. The only thing I think is maybe The Lord feels Tori is such a little angel he doesn’t want her to see all the bad things in the world.Whatever I am praying she is still healed and given a chance to make her own impact on the world like she is doing now.just think about the abuse Jesus went thru and that will tell you how special Tori is.

  5. I don’t believe you will ever know how many hearts and lives your story has touched and will continue touching. God is surely using you and Tori to show people that even in the darkest moments, He will be our source of strength and help. Prayers for each of you in the difficult days ahead.

  7. “Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart. ” So glad to know you are finding some peace in the storm! Sending prayers!
