When I feel offended by something or learn new information that goes against what I currently believe, I’ve learned to embrace this perfect opportunity to sit in that feeling for a while – not brush it off and assume I’m right – and to take the time to learn more about the other side of whatever that something may be.

I may not end up changing my position, but I typically end up having more compassion and understanding for those who see things in that way because I humbly asked myself “what if I’m wrong?”

Listening to understand has been life-changing and I hope you’ll give it a try.
