Italy: Amalfi Coast

As we considered what to try to see on our “glimpse of Italy” adventure, one thing we knew we had to do was a tour of the Amalfi Coast. It is one of the most iconic parts of Italy, and after seeing so many photos, I knew I needed my own.

Thankfully, we found a fabulous guided tour option that made this a possibility since we only had one day for this opportunity. It picked us up in Naples, transported us to Sorrento, Positano, and Amalfi, provided lunch with a view of the Mediterranean Sea, and arranged for a 45-minute boat tour in Amalfi.

My Apple Watch said I climbed 35 flights of stairs that day and I believe it. Positano, in particular, is on a steep mountain and in order to get the iconic views, we had to walk downhill (and then back up, of course).

The Amalfi Coast is a fascinating place. The architecture, history, art, terrain, and beauty are remarkable. Also, I’m so glad we didn’t have to drive ourselves there because the roads were narrow, windy, and somehow two-way roads, making for some interesting encounters. Bravo to our drivers in Italy!
