I forgot to mention that we have another Homeowner’s Association meeting tonight–to “vote” on whether or not we can stay there (essentially). I am honestly not concerned, and I am at peace about this situation…however, it is also wise to wrap the meeting in prayer! Please pray for calm tempers (last time, the board got a little upset–not at us directly, because we weren’t allowed to say anything, but at the community and at the situation), clear thinking, and for the Lord’s Will to be done. We really want to stay…and I think we will get to! 🙂

…they always get worse. I am generally not a fan of the entertainment industry. I cannot stand “celebrity gossip.” And I especially cannot stand the increasingly immoral shows which are appearing on television…like this one, coming out on MTV…

If I never watched another television show/movie, I would be just fine. As for now, I am just incredibly selective with what I put before my eyes.

This article states pretty well how I feel about media/entertainment, and I wanted to share a piece from it:

“I will set before my eyes no evil thing,” writes David in the Psalms. “Religion that God our Father considers pure and faultless is this: . . . to keep oneself from being polluted by the world,” says the book of James. “Purify your hearts,” Jesus instructs us. How? By purifying our eyes — the two are inextricably connected.

Christianity is not a pair of glasses you put on to filter the world through. It is a complete change of your life itself, a rebirth of your very body, Christ in you — and when He’s competing with a constant influx of Hollywood, He will be limited in how much He can change you. That is the result of free will, and that is why He instructs us to repent and draw near to him. Carefully monitoring what we watch is one way of doing so. ‘The lamp of the body is the eye; if therefore your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.” (Matthew 6:22, 23a)

In 2004, I “fasted” from all secular entertainment for the summer…and it was such an amazing experience! I had so much time, so much energy, and I got so much accomplished! Maybe it’s time to do that again…it’s going to be difficult in my house, but maybe it’s something to consider…

Can you imagine being banned from saying “I don’t know” at work?! This Siberian town is attempting to do just that! Very interesting…

This article about the current situation in Iran both frustrates and saddens me…especially for the women! It’s just amazing to see Ahmadinejad making such horrible decisions with no thought to the consequences/effects…10 million people live below the poverty line, and a majority of others are struggling to make ends meet…and yet he continues with his terrible economic decisions.

Pray for Iran…I think things will get much worse before they get better.

I bought both “Caedmon’s Call” and “Casting Crowns” new albums yesterday…and both are DEFINITELY worth buying! Once again, these two bands have brought forth a clear, strong message…and my heart has been touched by them yet again.
