Esther…

“Queen Esther went before the king,
she laid her heart and her life on the line.
Then she waited.” –a wise friend 🙂

Had a moment much like Jim and Pam did in “Casino Night” last night (for you “Office” fans)…and now it’s time to pray…to continually surrender to the Lord, because I know that He is in control…and I know that He will do what is best for me. 🙂

It’s time to be like Queen Esther…trust my King to love me and take care of me.

Navajo Trip Update…

Wow–it has been a month since I’ve blogged! Life has been as crazy as usual…

Quick update…

July 6th-14th: Navajo Mission Trip…amazing! The Lord did some incredible things out there! I had my own personal miracle on the first day of the trip, which set the tone for the whole week. When we prayed in the church parking lot before heading out, I set my camera on the bumper of one of the SUV’s we were taking. We got in the cars and drove off. I realized as we were heading up I-15 (Cajon Pass) that I didn’t know where my camera was (and we weren’t stopping until Barstow, about 90 miles from Glendora)…so for 60 miles, I was trying not to worry, trying to convince myself that my camera was just in another vehicle. We arrived in Barstow, and my camera was STILL on the bumper! Nothing was holding it on! Praise the LORD–He knows what we need!!! I took 800 pictures with my camera this week, though I won’t keep them all. Many shots are worthy of framing, and I will be doing that in the coming weeks.

We had over 100 kids in our VBS during the trip–which is incredible! There were about 20 decisions to follow Christ! 🙂 Yay!

I’m still processing the trip, so I don’t really know what to say yet…but I do know that I feel even more strongly that I could be on the mission field for the rest of my life…

More to come…here are two small albums of pictures to give you a small glimpse into our week. These pictures do not do justice to the beauty of the valley!

Oh–and an update to the previous post: my team got 2nd place, so we each received a $100 gift card to BestBuy!! 🙂 YAY!

Yay!

A few days ago, I mentioned that I was doing a presentation for some corporate executives…it went really well! My VP came, which was awesome because he was able to see me do well…

The best news is that out of 25 teams, my team is in the final three!! Next week, we will revise our presentation/video, and our division of the company will vote…it’s so awesome to know that we at least will come in 3rd–which is a $50 gift card to Best Buy for each member of the team. First place is a $250 gift card to Best Buy!! 🙂 That’s 1/4 of my camera (the one I really want)…

Anyway, we are so excited…we have worked really hard this year on the initiatives that we highlighted in the presentation, so this is an awesome reward! 🙂

More to come…

This is too funny…

I hate celebrity gossip. Period. I think it’s a waste of time and I also think that it is truly “gossip”–which Jesus doesn’t want us to do.

In spite of that, I have been intrigued by this Paris Hilton jail thing…and I am SO glad that she is going BACK TO JAIL! No one should receive special treatment…especially when house arrest equals staying in a mansion…

Update…

Not too much happening–because I’m SOOO busy! This week I have spent every night at church, for various things…tomorrow night (Friday) is my first night off, LOL. Even Saturday is going to be spent taking the youth group on a hike…it’s worth it, but it’s exhausting… 🙂

Had another filling replaced today, so I’m done now 🙂 Now they are all porcelain and you can’t see them (and they won’t chip–I had to have all four replaced because they had chipped–and they were only 6 years old).

I’m doing a presentation in front of some corporate executives next week, so I’m pretty excited about that! This is a HUGE visibility opportunity, so please pray that I’ll be calm, collected, concise, and articulate. 🙂 I also just wrapped up a four-month long project that was incredibly successful, and that is such a blessing! The Lord is truly blessing me as I continue to press forward.

Our house is wonderful…though we’ve had some interesting situations with our homeowners association, life has been incredibly good lately!

I can’t believe that it’s already June…my life for the next couple of months will be even busier than before–if that’s possible! 🙂 I’m really excited though–many trips are coming up (Navajo mission trip; family reunion in Trinidad, California, etc.)…

…and I get to go to Pennsylvania in October! It’s been almost TWO years since I have been to PA, and I miss it dearly. I can’t wait to see my friend Jon get married–and to sing at his wedding! 🙂

That’s all I’ve got for now…time to go to youth group!

MRI Results…

The results are in…you’d think I’d be a bit more relieved than I am, considering that I now have an answer to ten years of pain!

I have a bulged disc (between C5-C6), protruding 2mm onto the sac that surrounds the spinal cord. The radial nerve is affected by these discs…which means that this is probably what caused my arm issues all these years…I know that my surgeon did find things when he went into my arm, so I’m not doubting that they helped (I did feel the improvement), but it all stems from the neck…

Anyway, bottom line: if we don’t get this disc into place, I’ll be having surgery before I’m 45. So, physical therapy it is 🙂

Thank you all for your prayers and concerns!
