Day One: Project Started

I started my special “weekend project” today, and though it isn’t going as I had hoped, nonetheless, it is going. 🙂

I can’t post details yet in case the parties involved happen to randomly read my blog. Pictures will be posted on Sunday afternoon! 🙂

Day One: Project Started…

What’s the name of this song?!

Does it ever drive you nuts when you hear a song on the radio for the first time, love it, but can’t remember all the lyrics when you actually are home to search on Google?

I heard a song on a Christian radio station today, and it was amazing. I think it was a Christmas song. All I can remember is that it talked about how it was amazing that the hand of God could be so small (obviously talking about Jesus being a baby), and that it was the same hand that had created everything. The chorus said “alleluia” a few times…and that’s all I can remember!

It was a beautiful song, but I can’t remember the words…

Does that ring a bell with anyone?

[Update: I found it!! Extensive research on the latest Christmas songs revealed that it is a song by Joy Williams called “Here With Us”…yay!!]

So Thankful…

Too many things for which I am thankful…but I’ll list a few–in no particular order…

–My amazing and loving family
–My Friends
–My roommate, Mindi
–Being born in America, with all the privileges that come with that
–For never going hungry or thirsty
–My education, and what the Lord will do with that in the future
–All the experiences the Lord has allowed me to have–all over the U.S. and 2 other countries
–Life in general.

As I spent time with my cousins, in particular, today, I realized just how blessed I am. We are all so close, and although we tease each other relentlessly, we know that it’s all in love and that we would do anything to protect one another. We went miniature golfing tonight, for the second year in a row (hey, it’s Red Bluff, that’s the best we can do for entertainment, LOL), and it was such a great time.

I even realized that Red Bluff isn’t so bad. No, I don’t ever want to move back here, but I realized that it is a part of me, and one that will never leave me.

Now on to preparing for my parents’ 25th anniversary party on Saturday…lots to be done!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Amusing…

Favorite quote from Bible study last night: “I would LOVE to see you on pot–it would be great!”–Danny to me. (Wow, yeah, NO).

Another observation: I was looking through the satellite guide last night, trying to find a show to watch and I noticed that Seinfeld was coming on. So I turned it on, and it wasn’t Seinfeld–it was a “breaking news” segment on (get ready) a high speed chase through East L.A.

………

It never ceases to amaze me how Southern Californians feel the need to know about these things–and that the news stations show the car for more than 30 minutes (as was the case last night–I kept flipping back to the station, hoping that Seinfeld would be on). High speed chases are on the news nearly EVERY night, no exaggeration. Why do we have to watch the car drive down the freeway?!

Just an observation…and another thing that drives me nuts about living in “the SouthLand.” But, this is where the Lord has called me for now, so I must be content. 🙂

Interesting Week…

Lots of driving…left a job…started a new one with my roommate…many interviews…no idea what I want to do for a career, but pretty sure it doesn’t involve sitting behind a desk for eight hours a day…good times with my roommate this week…going to see Keith Urban in three weeks!…Pennsylvania in less than a month…Thanksgiving next week…

Overall, it has been a great week!
