I Got a Rabbit!!!

Yay! I finally got my rabbit today! I don’t have a name for him yet, but will by tonight or tomorrow morning. He is ADORABLE! 🙂

My Labor Day Weekend was fabulous! I spent it in the Eastern Sierras with Mindi and her family, and it was amazing. We camped, fished (I caught two! Well, actually 4, but two broke off my line), went driving on dirt roads, exploring old ruins and stuff. It was awesome! I’ll post pictures later.

Yay for my rabbit!

I’m Out!!

Have a great Labor Day weekend! We’re off to a weekend of fun, fishing, camping, laughing and enjoying God’s beautiful creation!

Please be praying for me–I might have a great opportunity for a job…May the Lord’s will be done!

Dear Lord…

Dear Lord,” the minister said and he began a prayer with arms extended and a rapturous look on his upturned face, “without you we are but dust…” He would have continued, but at that moment a little girl leaned over to her mother and asked quite audibly, “Mommy, WHAT is butt dust?”

Church was pretty much over at that point…

(Thanks to Aunt Lori for sending this to me!)

Great Camping Trip!

My favorite picture from the weekend…:) Posted by Picasa

This camping trip was really awesome. We had 12 kids and 4 adults, and it just went so smoothly!

This picture is from our game of “Sardines”, where one person hides, and everyone else must try to find them and hide with them quietly, often creating situations much like a can of sardines. Such was the experience this round, when the person hiding hid in the back of Mindi’s truck! 🙂 There were 13 people in the bed of the truck!

Great kids, great fellowship, great weather (cool enough to wear sweatshirts, and about 30 degrees cooler than Glendora). Good times!

I LOVE Google…

Alright, I just can’t help it. I love Google.

I discovered Google during my senior year in high school, but really began to love it during college. It is by far the best search engine, and the one that we were trained to use as research assistants at APU.

And it just keeps getting better! I LOVE Google Maps –-especially the satellite version. I am a map freak anyway, and Google provides hours worth of entertainment.

I use Gmail, which is amazing as well. By far, the best email service I have ever used.

All this to say, there is even yet one more thing that they have done which is incredible. Now you can see the MOON!

It also appears that they are seeking people to work on the moon. They could be kidding, but I’d be willing to go!! I have always wanted to go to space, and that would be amazing. I’d be willing to go back to school for that job!

It’s just too awesome.

Google rocks!

Top Ten Things I Cannot Live Without

Paige tagged me on her blog to do this, so it’s my turn!

–Top Ten Things I Cannot Live Without–
(In no particular order)

10–My journal…
I love to journal–and that’s often how I pray, by writing letters to God.

9–My camera…
I love capturing special moments on film!

8–My phone…
I love keeping in touch with my friends and family across the U.S.

7–My Bible…
I don’t think this one needs an explanation!

6–MAIL…
I love snail mail…it brightens my life so much!

5–My iPod…
Couldn’t live as happily without music, and my iPod makes it so convenient!

4–My family and friends…
Again, no explanation…they make life so wonderful!

3–Showers…
In Tunisia, I was voted the “cleanest” person on the team…I love showers, and don’t deal well with not being able to shower everyday.

2–Flip-flops…
I wear them all year!

1–Pajama pants…
I love being comfortable…and these are the most comfortable things to wear!

Southern California is Wonderful…

Oh joy… Posted by Picasa

I went to the grocery store today to get ice…I was in there for about 2 minutes, came out, and this was on my car.

I realize this could happen anywhere, not just in SoCal, but….things like this happen quite frequently down here.

At least it was on the side that is already damaged!

Idiosyncracies…

Since Paige tagged me on her blog, it is my turn to do this!

An idiosyncrasy can be defined as: A structural or behavioral characteristic peculiar to an individual or group.

Here are 5 idiosyncrasies that I possess:

1–Like Paige, I always hit the snooze button 2-3 times in the morning.

Even worse, I actually set my alarm to go off earlier than I need to get up so that I CAN hit the snooze button. 🙂 My roommate just laughs at me regarding this one.

2–I cannot sleep if my closet doors are open.

I’m a bit obsessive-compulsive about some things, and that’s one of the weird things that I just cannot deal with. Sleep is often difficult if there is noise or light as well.

3–I love when things are symmetrical and/or parallel.

I cannot handle it when picture frames are uneven or not parallel–even in other people’s houses! And, I love symmetry. My dream house is the colonial style, completely symmetrical.

4–I have a very musical ear (nearly perfect pitch), and absolutely cannot handle it when things are out of tune.

This is both a blessing and a curse. It has enabled me to play the French Horn–which is not the easiest instrument to play…however, it has greatly diminished my enjoyment of music, for I am constantly analyzing everything and grimacing when things are off pitch.

5–I am a hopeless romantic.

Right now, I’m watching “The Notebook” and I’ve seen it probably 10 times already…I love chick flicks, and often force myself to “fast” from them in order to keep my eyes on the Lord has His plan for my life. However, these movies help me to remember that “someday my prince will come” and I will have my own romance. I LOVE taking care of people, and creating memorable occasions for people–and I can’t wait to have a husband to take care of! ALL in God’s time.

I know that there are MANY more idiosyncracies within me, but these are the only ones that came to mind.
