Check out my guestmap! I saw this on Heather’s blog, and I thought it was pretty cool.
There’s a link on my sidebar, so please put a marker on it!

Do you ever enter your name into Google? I do occasionally, because it is interesting to see where my name pops up.
Well, last night I put my name in, and the strangest result came up. Click here to see what came up (don’t worry–it’s rated G!). The last result is the VERBATIM partial script of a phone conversation I had with a childhood friend last Fall…why is it online? And why can’t I get to it by following the link?
Any thoughts or suggestions? I’m SO curious to find out why it’s on there. Weird!
[Update: Um, it appears that I posted that part of the conversation on my own blog in November…thanks to my mentor for investigating that! I still don’t know why it is appearing on that random site, but the mystery is solved. Wow–I am a moron sometimes!]
U2 is often a subject of debate in the Christian world–are they Christians or not?
Since I am going to see them live at Madison Square Garden in about two months, I want to post this article that was read at my Bible study group tonight. I believe that Bono is a great example of what it means to minister “outside the box” and I admire him in many areas. I think this article (which is an interview that was conducted by World Magazine with Bono) is great because Bono makes a CLEAR statement of faith.
Read it and leave comments if you desire. 🙂
I completely disagree with this entire article…maybe it’s just me, but I just don’t agree.
Still recovering from this weekend. It’s pathetic, really, that I get so worn out after staying up all night/day. I guess, though, the exhaustion could be from the whole summer combined–it has been exhausting and non-stop craziness.
The mother of some of my youth kids told me today that she sees the Lord moving me around from place to place and not keeping me in one place for very long. While that’s encouraging (because I’ve felt the same thing–or rather, I’ve begun to suspect that, since I have been moving at least every 4 months for the past 3 years, and every 3 weeks this summer), it’s also kinda sad, because I want to have a place to call “home,” a sense of stability. But, who knows. If that’s what the Lord is calling me to, then He will prepare and equip me. No worries!
Bought my plane ticket for NYC for the U2 concert today…2 months! 🙂 That will be a great weekend–3 days in NYC with a good friend. This will be awesome!
And life continues…
Wow…last night was our youth “sleep” over…yeah right. I was up for 23 hours before I slept for 2 hours…It went well, but I just can’t stay up all night anymore!
Going to bed…it’s 9pm. 🙂
Ever since December 2002 (my second arm surgery), my life has been an experiment, discovering what my partially disabled arm can and cannot do…
Well, yesterday I learned that I cannot play baseball/softball…well, I at least can’t hit the ball. I went to the batting cages with Cindy and Mindi last night, and while I had a great time, my arm is suffering now. It isn’t the kind of pain that comes when you haven’t done something in a while (10 years I think)–it’s definitely nerve pain that comes from jarring damaged nerves.
So, let’s add this one to the list! No more baseball for Lesa. Maybe tennis will still be okay…haven’t tried that in awhile.
This Garfield comic creates a perfect intro to what I want to rant about today.
Last week, as I was walking through the mall searching for the perfect dress for Alli’s wedding, I passed by a store with this sign:
“Now offering Plus Sizes: 12-24”
Excuse me? Since when is a 12, or even a 14, a plus-size?! The average woman in America is a size 12–and that is NOT a plus size.
When I watch the media and then observe its effects on the young girls with which I work, I realize that more and more they are pressuring girls to be WAY too skinny–and many girls truly believe that they must be a twig in order for men to find them attractive. They are SO wrong!
That’s why I chose this Garfield comic to precede this mini-rant. Girls: Be healthy, but don’t make yourself ill trying to be what society says is “beautiful.” Society is WRONG about that!! The Lord has made us all beautiful in different ways–and we don’t have to look like the air-brushed models on magazines!
Okay, I’m done. I just couldn’t believe that sign. Be happy with who God has made you to be–it’s okay to improve your appearance, but do it for YOURSELF, not for others.
Here is the link where you can view pictures from Leslie and Stuart’s, and Alli and Sim’s, weddings. Also, you’ll be able to view other albums in my collection if you so desire.
Note about the pictures: In these albums, the quality isn’t the greatest. If you want a copy of a picture, I can email it to you.
Also, from Leslie’s wedding: I wasn’t at a great vantage point to take pictures, so they are limited and not the greatest. However, Ananda got some great ones, and you can see these online here.
At Alli’s wedding, I was singing and playing guitar, so there are no pictures from the actual ceremony. Those will be available later, however, on Alli and Sim’s website. I tried to take a lot during the reception!
Enjoy!
Wow–I haven’t posted this much in a long time!
I forgot to mention that I caught the bouquet yesterday! 🙂
Supposedly, that means that I’ll be the next to get married.
Well, it’s fun to dream! 🙂
