Thanks, Courtney!

In anticipation of our long journey to “the North” tomorrow, my roommate Courtney went and got snacks and beverages for the ride…and she also surprised me by buying me the new U2 cd! It’s even the really nice one, with the book and DVD! 🙂 I am so excited–now I’ll have a new CD to listen to tomorrow!

Thanks so much!! 🙂

What I’m Thankful For…

My pastor’s wife gave me an assignment yesterday to make a list of all that I am grateful for–and this just happens to coincide with Thanksgiving. So, I thought I’d just start it on here, since I wanted to post today anyway…

I’m grateful…

…for a God who loves me unconditionally…

…for a family (immediate and extended) who is so loving…

…for friends who have been with me through everything…

…for a university that is incredible…

…for my semester in Washington, D.C….

…for being able to work for Newt Gingrich…

…for my summers in Pennsylvania…

…for good health…

…for the countless opportunities the Lord has given me…

…for the United States of America…

…for President George W. Bush

…for the beauty of Northern California…

…alright, and Southern…

…for my church in Glendora–SO amazing!…

…for my musical ability…

…for being able to play nearly every instrument I attempt…

…for an arm that functions almost normally now…

…for almond milk and soy ice cream…

…for my job and my boss/mentor…

…for the diverse terrain the Lord has created for us to enjoy…

…for the chance to sing for the Billy Graham Crusade…

…for the teachers I had growing up, who shaped my life…

…for the professors I’ve had, who have challenged me…

Well, that’s a start anyway…I’ll add to this progressively as I think of more things for which I am grateful. Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

True Statements About College…

I remember getting this email before I came to college, and it still amazes me at how applicable and how true these statements are. I decided to post these rather than pictures tonight because I am exhausted…I only posted the ones that I can relate to, so that this post isn’t a mile long as usual.

50 THINGS ADMISSIONS NEVER TOLD YOU ABOUT COLLEGE

1. Quarters are gold.

2. Two meals per day is the standard.

3. Road trip whenever possible.

4. Going to the mailbox was never an ego booster/breaker before.

5. You will begin to nap again.

6. Your bookstore bill will almost equal tuition. (*well…not at APU!)

7. Instant messenger becomes an addiction.

8. E-mail becomes your second language

9. You never realized that so many people were smarter than you.

10. Procrastination is an art form. (*AMEN!)

11. SNOOD is more addicting than pot. (*Seriously…we were SO addicted to Snood our first year!)

12. The health service nurses are there because they couldn’t make it at a real hospital. Never, ever forget that.

13. Care packages are right up there with birthdays. (*hint, hint, LOL)

14. Campus is only (*really, really) clean for Family Weekend and Freshman Orientation.

15. Nothing you want to register for will be open. (*Until junior/senior year)

16. Classes… the later the better.

17. You are no longer thankful that the fire alarms are here to protect you. (*Freshman year,

anyone? Those STUPID people who set off the alarms as a prank at 2am should be severely punished!)

18. Jeans may be worn as many times as the wearer desires.

19. Cereal makes a meal any time of the day.

20. You will eat anything that is free.

21. ATM’s are the devils advocate. ATM = Another Twenty Missing.

22. Duct tape heals all wounds.

23. You realize college is the ideal life style, except for those pesky classes

YOU KNOW YOU’VE BEEN IN COLLEGE TOO LONG WHEN…

You actually like doing laundry at home.

You’d rather clean than study.

“Oh man how did it get so late!” comes out of your mouth at least once a night.

You live for getting mail.

Looking out the window is a form of entertainment.

You start thinking and sounding like your roommate. (*Only applicable for Freshman and Sophomore years)

Rearranging your room is your favorite pastime.

The weekend lasts from Thursday to Sunday.

Ah…167 days and I will no longer be able to say those things are true about my life…that’s kinda sad! 🙂 But I’ll deal with it!

Wow…

So, I know that I said that last night was completely packed…well, there were so many people tonight that many had to watch the screens in the parking lot because it was FULL! The Rose Bowl holds about 102,000 people…and there were a couple hundred on the field as well…

AND, SO many people went forward tonight! Probably twice as many as last night! I posted more pictures below, though they aren’t the best quality since I was farther away from the stage tonight (no choir)…

I am so amazed at how the Lord can use one man to change the world…amazing…

Incredible Night at the Rose Bowl…

The Rose Bowl was completely packed tonight, despite the chilly weather. I was amazed as I watched people continue to enter the stadium…I’d estimate that there were at least 50,000 people there–but I don’t know how many the Rose Bowl holds.

The choir has the best seats in the house, I believe. And we got a very cool experience tonight as Michael W. Smith taught us the song that we sang back-up on…it was so great! He is a very talented musician!

He brought a friend along that sat on the piano bench with him during one of his songs…he brought James Caviezel–who played Jesus in The Passion of the Christ. As Michael led the stadium in singing “Above All” he told us that, throughout the filming of the Passion, James had told him that this song ran through his head quite often. It was so awesome to see such a prominent Hollywood entertainer humbly singing this song with Michael W. Smith…it was great.

Another amazing sermon from Rev. Graham–he has such a great sense of humor! AND he is so powerful, still, even though he is 86 years old.

They estimated that 2,000-3,000 people accepted the Lord last night, and I’d say that at least twice as many came forward tonight! PRAISE GOD! It was so touching! 🙂

Tomorrow night will be great…no choir tomorrow, so I just get to sit and enjoy Third Day, The Tait Band, and Kutless…:)

God is good…
