HOA Update…

God is SOOOO good!

The State of California is taking our case–because it is CLEARLY discrimination! Our landlady talked to the Fair Housing Board today (who had originally set the interview for December, but got the paperwork and moved up the case because they were concerned), and they said that it is clearly discrimination and clearly illegal.

I can’t tell you how amazing this is–WE knew it was illegal and discrimination, but now the State of California is on our side as well!

The house is currently on the market (though this new development may allow us to stay!), so the HOA board probably thinks they’ve won…boy, are they in for a surprise. I am most excited about this because we had surrendered it into the Lord’s hands, and He is proving Himself once again. He is truly a God of love and a God of Justice.

Google is AMAZING (again!)…

I lost my planner/calendar a week ago, and it has been SO frustrating! So, I decided that I should probably keep a “soft-copy” calendar as well as hard-copy. Google has a calendar function, and just like everything else that Google does, it is absolutely amazing. I am SO excited about this calendar! It’s easy, it will send me emails every morning at 5am with my schedule for the day, and I can access it anywhere.

I love Google… 🙂

Crazy…but blessed…

Work has been crazy (I had hoped it would slow down while I was in PA, so that I would come back to the calm…yeah right!)…New Orleans stuff is gearing up–and we start interviewing prospective team members in two weeks! Crazy! Church stuff is actually calm right now…

Some BIG changes are in the not-so-distant future, which is very exciting. I’ll post as I am able. 🙂

Just wanted to post a quick note for my loyal readers 🙂

Horrible!!

I don’t care how you feel about California (or anywhere else, for that matter)…to CHEER when a place is being utterly destroyed is HORRIBLE! 😦 I am at a loss for words…

Firestorm 2007…

Wow…I come home from Pennsylvania to a state that is on fire…there was even a fire in my city–Glendora–this morning!

Here’s a map Google created of the fires.

Yesterday, it took us 8 hours to drive from San Diego to Glendora because of the fires. We bought a map and I found some back roads to get us around the fires (about a 50 mile detour)…

I took pictures

Please pray…it’s supposed to be 98 degrees in Glendora today, with Santa Ana winds–and that’s the last thing we need right now. Pray for the firefighters and for the fire to be contained.

In other news, I had a great time in PA, as always…definitely hard to come back to California…

I’ll post more later.

Pennsylvania so far…

I have been here for three full days now…and I have loved every second. I have been SO blessed already! The Lord is truly using this time to restore my soul and to bring healing to my heart, and I feel refreshed, renewed…but still not ready to return to California. At all. So, I am going to not think about returning until I have to!

Here’s a quick rundown of my experience so far:

Thursday–flying all day, driving to Harrisburg. Dinner with my “Pennsylvania Dad” at Panera Bread.

Friday–lunch with Jon in Harrisburg, wandering around the area (the Capitol building, Hershey, etc.), playing airport taxi for Randy, going dress shopping, wedding rehearsal and dinner.

Saturday–wedding! Pretty much all day. Drove to Williamsport. Yay!

Sunday–Church (sang on worship team; amazing church service–the Lord was really moving, as He always seems to do at this church!), lunch with most of my favorite people in Williamsport, drove to Scranton (had a great time there seeing places from “The Office”), drove to Bethlehem to stay with Cheyenne and Matt…

And that’s where I am currently. 🙂 I leave for Pittsburgh tomorrow night…long drive 🙂

Praise the Lord for this trip…it’s SO what I needed!
