Another Theme Song…

“Realize”
by Colbie Caillat

Take time to realize,
That your warmth is crashing down on in.
Take time to realize,
That I am on your side
Didn’t I, Didn’t I tell you.

But I can’t spell it out for you,
No it’s never gonna be that simple
No I can’t spell it out for you

[C:] If you just realize what I just realized,
That we’d be perfect for each other
And we’ll never find another
Just realize what I just realized
We’d never have to wonder if
We missed out on each other now.

[V2:] Take time to realize
Oh-oh I’m on your side
Didn’t I, didn’t I tell you.
Take time to realize
This all can pass you by…Didn’t I tell you

But I can’t spell it out for you,
No it’s never gonna be that simple
No I can’t spell it out for you.

[C:] If you’d just realize what I just realized
That we’d be perfect for each other
and we’ll never find another
Just realize what I just realized
We’d never have to wonder if
We missed out on each other…

[V3:] It’s not always the same
No it’s never the same
If you don’t feel it too.
If you meet me halfway
If you would meet me halfway.
It could be the same for you.

[C:] If you just realize what I just realized
That we’d be perfect for each other
and we’ll never find another
Just realize what I just realized
We’d never have to wonder
Just realize what I just realized

Grandpa Ken’s 75th Birthday Party…

On Saturday morning, I flew to Northern California to surprise my grandfather for his 75th birthday party. It was really great to see the family–as it’s been awhile since we were all together. And, of course, I was so happy to be there for this occasion! 🙂 I flew back yesterday, so it was a very quick trip…

Here are some pictures–I only took 14, LOL, so it’s a small album. But here’s the whole fam! 🙂

I’ve been saying this for years…

‘Drawing parallels with the end of the Roman empire, Mr Walker warned there were “striking similarities” between America’s current situation and the factors that brought down Rome, including “declining moral values and political civility at home, an over-confident and over-extended military in foreign lands and fiscal irresponsibility by the central government”.

“Sound familiar?” Mr Walker said. “In my view, it’s time to learn from history and take steps to ensure the American Republic is the first to stand the test of time.”’

This is something I have been saying since at least my sophomore year in college–being a history minor, we discussed Rome quite often, and we immediately noted the parallels…it is definitely something of which we need to be aware.

Children’s Names…

With all of the talk about the couple in New Zealand who wanted to name their baby “4Real” (and instead is naming it “Superman” because the gov’t rejected their name choice), I thought I’d see what other countries are doing in regards to names…

Some laws make sense…for instance, in Germany, you can’t name your kid Adolf Hitler or Stalin…or Osama bin Laden…or Jihad…

But other countries don’t make as much sense…

Denmark has quite strict laws about naming your baby…they say that it’s to help prevent children from being made fun of.
“People expecting children can choose a pre-approved name from a government list of 7,000 mostly West European and English names – 3,000 for boys, 4,000 for girls. A few ethnic names, like Ali and Hassan, have recently been added.”

Sweden did not allow parents to name their child Metallica…

France also has an “approved list”, but their list is based upon religion as well…they say it’s for the same reasons as Sweden and Denmark–so that kids won’t be made fun of.

Chinese, Hindu, and Muslim cultures also adhere to strict laws…

Doesn’t this make you appreciate the U.S. a little more? LOL–well, actually, sometimes I WISH we had laws, because there are kids who will be mocked for life because of their names…

Just some food for thought…
