Brief Update…

Weekend was very fast…went to the fair…went to a Red Bluff High School football game (and won $90 in the 50/50 drawing!)…went fishing with my Grandpa on Lake Shasta…saw my best-friend get married…and flew back very early Sunday morning. It was busy!

Had my second interview today, and it went very well. I have some writing to submit to the manager before the third interview is scheduled. It’s looking good, and the more I talk with him, the more I realize that this is actually something I could enjoy! It is a unique way to serve others–which is something that is imperative to whatever career I may enter.

Lots to do this week…but I’ll try to post a more substantive update soon!

Second Interview!

I had my first interview this afternoon with a financial corporation, and have my second interview on Monday. This job actually seems like it will fit me well! The manager and I are having lunch on Monday…please pray that if this is the Lord’s will that it will happen!

Life in General…

Do you ever have days when you are bombarded by memories from your past? Memories that you perhaps hoped to forget? This has been one of those days. Even the little things made me remember times long past…times that, while I am glad to have behind me, I would give almost anything to have back again…ah yes, just one of those days. 🙂

In other news, the interview went well. The lady who interviewed me was very honest and told me that I am overqualified for the job, and that it would be “cheating” me if they hired me. She referred me to a friend of hers who is looking for an assistant, and she said that he would pay a lot more than this job is offering, and would have better benefits…she called him when I was in there, and I am supposed to call him tomorrow morning to set up an interview…so, we’ll just see. I’ve applied to a few more jobs in the area, so we’ll see what the Lord brings!

The only other exciting thing right now is that I got the paint for my room today. This is the first room that I’ve been able to paint since I was in junior high or high school, when I decided to be “adventurous” and paint my room white with a slight tint of blue, lol. My room is going to be a sage green-ish color, called “Caraway”–and SO pretty. The trim/ceiling will be a slightly off white color, called “linen white.” If you are really curious, you can see the color at http://www.behr.com Click on “Explore Color” and follow the instructions.

One more day until NorCal!

Back to SoCal…

Well, camping was fabulous! We had a great weekend up in the Eastern Sierra’s, north of Bishop…it was beautiful, relaxing, and enlightening…my favorite part was probably the exploration of dirt roads in Mindi’s truck…getting stuck in the ditch…and digging ourselves out three hours later… That was amazing. Pictures will follow.

We returned to Glendora and found clouds awaiting us–this is an exciting thing for me! Remember, “it never rains in Southern California!”–and we had about 24 hours of amazing thunder, lightning and RAIN. I LOVE RAIN! 🙂

In other news, I have a job interview tomorrow…completely unexpected and unsolicited–nevertheless, the Lord works in mysterious ways, and I am going to do my best to seek His will in this situation.

More traveling next weekend–this time I’m going home. I will get to see my (hopefully award-winning) photography in the county fair, go fishing with my Grandpa, and see my best-friend get married. It will be good times in NorCal.

Life is good…

Going Camping…Again!

Tomorrow is the beginning of another wonderful weekend…we’ll be camping, fishing, relaxing…AND going to a Bluegrass Festival on Sunday! I am SO excited. It is going to be beautiful–and I am in need of another “mountain fix.” This is the last (planned) camping trip of the summer, and I am totally looking forward to it!

Have a great weekend!

30,000 Hits!!

Wow–today or tomorrow I will hit the 30,000 mark…that is SO incredible!! I started this blog almost two years ago, with 2 or 3 readers…it is so amazing how it has grown!

Thank you all so much for reading this blog. It is such an outlet for me, a place where I can be myself and write about what concerns me. Thank you for continuing to have an interest in my life!

30,000!!

Louisiana?

I just want to say that I love my alma mater, Azusa Pacific University. They have totally stepped up to the plate in assisting Hurricane Katrina victims–including offering FREE tuition to those whose colleges are not able to be in session due to the hurricane.

I am seriously considering going out there to volunteer, with my old roommate Sara. They will need people over the next 4 months (at least)… Check out all that APU is doing, and join in!

Also, APU is making up this year for last year’s lack of exciting chapel speakers! I was checking out the schedule, and am SO excited! I might just have to attend some chapels! Chris Brown this week, Francis Chan next week, John Piper in two weeks, Brian McLaren in November…I’m excited!
