Back in Los Angeles…

It feels so strange to be here…almost like I am in Los Angeles for Spring Break…

As we landed this evening, I felt like I was vacationing, not like I was returning home…

Four months until I can move back to Washington, D.C., and I can’t wait! This week I felt like the Lord confirmed in SO many ways that He is calling me to move there…so many doors have opened…so many amazing people there…and I trust that He will provide and that He will continue to guide my steps in that direction.

It felt like I was “home” this week…and I can’t wait to return.

Great Day…

Today was another fabulous day…I was able to hang out with Newt Gingrich for an hour and a half today–as well as the rest of my former co-workers…and it was awesome! They asked me what kind of jobs I am looking for, and that opened up a great conversation…it’s looking good!

I walked about 11 miles in the past 2 days–no exaggeration…it’s great! I just regret wearing the shoes that I wore today–my feet are a little sore…

One more full day in the District, and it’s going to be a busy one! I LOVE IT HERE!!

Washington…

Wow…I have already been in D.C. for 4 days! I absolutely love it here! I have had such amazing fellowship, seen such amazing places…

Last night, for instance, was exactly what I needed. I went to a night of worship–which was incredible–and then out to IHOP afterwards for fellowship. I met 9 people last night who are also alums of ASP (American Studies Program). The bond that you have with these people, even though you have just met, is unreal. They all knew people that I know from various Christian colleges, and it was a great time of laughter and sharing.

I’m going to “work” today, and I’m so excited. I love this city, I love the people with whom God has blessed me…and I can’t wait to see what He is going to do!

Much more will come later about my Spring Break…it’s been awesome thus far!

Spring Break is HERE!!

I am now officially on Spring Break, and it feels so wonderful!

In 24 hours I will be in lovely Washington, D.C.–I can’t believe it! Though I was just in D.C. in January, my heart has longed to return…to actually be able to spend time with those I know and love there…to see the city…to see the new WWII Memorial, which was being built when I lived there…to spend time in prayer, seeking the Lord’s will for my life.

I am just so thankful that for the first time that I can remember, EVER, I am not stressed out. For those of you who know me (Duane especially), you know that this is incredible. I’ve been told that I don’t know how to relax–and I’ve actually been relaxing quite a bit over the past 2 weeks! It is amazing! There is NO need to stress out and worry–everything will get done. If only I had learned this concept at the beginning of college, and not the end…oh well!

I’ll post pictures from my trip throughout the week, most likely…I can’t wait!! 🙂

A note about my best-friend…

Duane and Lesa

I just wanted to say that I have the coolest best-friend in the world. This guy has literally watched me grow up, since we’ve been friends since I was 13.

I found this picture today (taken on my birthday last year), and decided that I should post it. He is so awesome and I am so blessed to have him in my life!!

Friends are amazing, and I am so thankful that God blesses us with them!

U2 Tickets!!

It’s official! I am going to see U2 in October at Madison Square Garden! My friend and I finally got tickets, and I am sooooo excited! We went through a lot to get these!

I guess this means I really am moving to the East coast! 🙂

Thoughts…

So, I have been working on my senior thesis for about four hours now, and I haven’t really accomplished anything. I have 10 more pages due on Monday, and I have one page written…I just have NO idea where my paper is going! I am doing a more “abstract” topic, one that is not concrete…and now I’m regretting my choice. Too late now!

Tried to get U2 tickets for their D.C. concert this morning, and they were sold out after 15 minutes. Tried to get tickets for their Boston concert, and those were sold out after 4 minutes. Sigh…we have a couple more options, and we’re holding out for those.

I am SO excited about Spring Break. I just found out today that two of my dearest guy friends from Pennsylvania are going to come visit me while I’m in D.C.! That has made my day! I haven’t seen them in a year, and I am so looking forward to that.

Cameron and I decided to take a mini-road trip next Friday, and we’re going to Colonial Williamsburg, VA. I have ALWAYS wanted to go there–ever since I read the “American Girl” books about Felicity as a young girl.

This Spring Break will be so wonderful–looking for jobs, traveling, hanging out with dear friends, and spending time in the city I hope to soon call “home.”

5 days! 🙂
