Thoughts…

I just spent a wonderful–yet exhausting–four days in Washington, D.C. I went for the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the American Studies Program (where I spent my Fall semester of 2003, interning for Newt Gingrich). It was incredible–great speakers, amazing friends…people who truly understand the passion we share for justice and Shalom.

My most fervent prayer this weekend was that the Lord would clearly show me where I am supposed to be. I was concerned that it would be incredibly difficult to be back in the city which I thought was to be my home a year ago…yet, as I was there, I realized that I would not be as happy there as I am here in SoCal.

I was surprised, to say the least…but it was also confirmed when I went to work this morning. I was so happy to be at work, with my co-workers…

I am at peace, I am content, knowing that–for the time being–I am where God wants me to be…

Below are some pictures from my adventure. Of course, I took far more than I can post here, so there are only a few. 🙂

Great Weekend in NorCal…

Mindi and I had a great weekend in NorCal–though it was very rapid-paced and a great deal of driving was involved. Unbeliveably, I did not take a single picture this weekend! My cousin took some when we went fishing on Saturday morning, but other than that, no photos. We drove at least 1000 miles this weekend–probably more like 1200. It was great though! It’s hard to be bored when Mindi is around. 🙂

I’m now officially moved in–I have my bed, my dresser…for the first time in four years I feel like I have a home. It’s such a great feeling! I hooked up my wireless Internet today, so I have Internet on my computer again.

Weird weather here–definitely had green clouds today, which made me nervous. I was not really looking forward to a tornado. More green clouds are in the sky right now! Where do I live?

Busy week ahead, but it’s all good.

Wow, it’s hot in Los Angeles!

Oh my goodness. After being in below freezing temps for 4 days, I am absolutely roasting here! WOW! It’s 60 degrees right now. I suppose that’s better than 3 degrees–which was the temperature when I woke up on Saturday morning!

I’ll post more later–I’m just a bit tired. What a long, but fabulous week! The Inauguration was awesome, the ball was even more amazing. I’ll post a couple of pictures to hold you over for now. 🙂

Leaving on a Jet Plane…

Things are falling into place! My “date” picked up our tickets for the ball today, as well as my tickets to the swearing in ceremony…my nails are done…I borrowed shoes that should be tall enough…I have a hair appointment…I have a beautiful dress…and at this time tomorrow I will be landing in Baltimore!!

I still cannot believe that this is happening! My roommates are probably really tired of hearing about this, so they’re probably glad that it will be over soon. 🙂

All my homework is done…all I have to do is finish classes and work today, pack, figure out which jewelery I am going to wear with my dress (white pearls or black pearls)…and get some rest…

I am so looking forward to this trip, to the experience, to the people with whom I will be visiting…and to being back in the city I loved so much (and the state of Pennsylvania, which I also love dearly)…

Details when I return!
